Malt and macadamia work beautifully together with the big bright hops from Stone® Ruination® Double IPA 2.0. Try this exotic tiki-fied shandy, inspired by the slew of San Diego IPAs.

  • 1 1/2 parts Auchentoshan American Oak® Single Malt Scotch Whisky
  • 3/4 part fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 part Vanilla Macademia Nut Syrup How to make
  • 3 parts Stone® Ruination® Double IPA 2.0
  • Lemon wedge and grated nutmeg garnish

Add 1 1/2 parts Auchentoshan American Oak® into a cocktail shaker

Add 3/4 part fresh lemon juice

Add 1/2 part vanilla macadamia nut syrup

Add 3 parts Stone® Ruination® Double IPA 2.0 into a pilsner glass

Strain contents into a pilsner glass

Vanilla Macadamia Nut Syrup:

  • 16 parts sugar
  • 8 parts water
  • 1/2 part cold pressed macadamia nut oil (can be found at most specialty grocery stores, or amazon.com)
  • 1 vanilla bean

Add water to a small sauce pan, split vanilla bean and scrape into water. Add bean casing and macadamia nut oil to water. Heat until simmering, then add sugar. When sugar is completely dissolved, strain syrup, and cool. It’s now usable. Store in refrigerator for up to 1 month (mix through before use)
